Santuario Cruz de Colón (Puerta del Descubrimiento)

To commemorate and celebrate the 400th anniversary of Puerto Rico's discovery by Christopher Columbus, this monumental cross was installed in the area that is believed to be where Columbus landed in 1493. While the original cross was installed in 1893, the monument was destroyed in the 1918's earthquake, so it was rebuilt in 1928.
