About
The Museo Parque de Bombas in Cidra honors the heroism of José "Pepe" Álvarez, the town's first firefighter and a pivotal contributor to the building's construction. Inside, visitors can explore fascinating exhibits, including vintage photographs of fire trucks of the era and a special section dedicated to the most significant fires that have impacted the Island and the municipality. The second floor highlights the firefighter's quarters of the time and displays a distinct siren. Additionally, the museum pays tribute to Raúl Gándara Cartagena, father of former first lady Luisa "Piti" Gándara, who played a crucial role in developing fire stations across the Island.
