About
Casa Salazar-Candal is a historic house located in Ponce's historic town center. The structure dates back to 1911 and it was designed by the architect Blas Silva. The architecture draws from multiple architectural styles including 19th Classical revival, Art Nouveau, and Spanish Revival. Today the Salazar–Candal Residence houses the History Museum of Ponce. Inaugurated in 1992, the museum depicts the city's ecology, economy, architecture, government, and elements of daily life. It seeks to promote the research, conservation, and dissemination of the historic heritage of Ponce and Puerto Rico.
