About
Inaugurated in 2001, this bronze monument, located in the north entrance of the city of Caguas, exhibits a Taína woman with her arms extended in a welcoming gesture. Accompanied by a beautiful fountain, this monument has become an iconic symbol of the city. This piece was made by the artist María Elena Perales, and it is an homage to the island's Taíno roots, as well as a tribute to the women of Caguas.
