Fundación Nacional Para la Cultura Popular

About

The Fundación Nacional para la Cultura Popular has been a hub for the scenic arts for the last twenty years. Since its foundation in 1996, the FNCP has staged numerous workshops, lectures, concerts, plays, and has been a haven for documents and memorabilia related to the arts in Puerto Rico. Moreover, the foundation prepared one of its rooms to serve as a library for researchers and students interested in the arts.

Some of the displays at the Fundación Nacional para la Cultura Popular include Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Usnavi costume from his Tony-winning play In the Heights; fifteen of the Grammys Calle 13 has won; a collection of Rita Moreno’s photographs, posters and magazine articles, among many other fascinating objects. Founder Javier Santiago, occasionally hosts Retro Pulga, a bazaar in which the FNCP sells LPs, books and other items for reasonable prices.
