About
Desecheo National Wildlife Refuge is an uninhabited marine reserve on the west coast of Puerto Rico. Although it is a relatively small island, the terrain is mountainous and rugged. The highest point on the island is 683 feet (208 meters) above sea level.
Desecheo is a haven for scuba divers due to its superb reefs, underwater caves, diverse marine life, and clear waters, but actually stepping foot on the island is punishable by law.
