About
If you're planning a weekend getaway in nature, we suggest you head over to the Bosque Toro Negro Camping Site. For an accessible price, you can stay on the camping grounds, which are just a few minutes away from the amazing La Confesora, a refreshing pond where you can swim and have a great time with family or friends. You can also visit the forest observation tower, which is more than 3,500 feet above sea level. The grounds have a few gazebos with picnic tables, sinks, running water, barbecues, and places for campfires. Just picture yourself in the midst of the Toro Negro Forest at night, lulled by the coquí's croaking and the sound of the river below, stargazing and having some smores. This is the perfect place to get in contact with nature.
The site is administrated by a local community organization called Amigos del Bosque Toro Negro inc. Remember to call before you go so that you can make your reservations from 8 am to 5 pm, any day of the week. The cost per night is $30 for a maximum of six people and includes the tent. The complex has bathrooms with showers. Hiking is free of charge, and you can go up to the observation tower, which will take 1-2 hours.
