Dear Industry Stakeholders,

We enter the Holidays with great hope and excitement. As we arrive at our high season, we continue to outshine most of our competitors, and 2024 is poised to become our fourth consecutive record-setting year for most major travel metrics in Puerto Rico. This is a testament to our collective efforts and the potential of our industry. Most importantly, over 100,000 workers are now employed in travel and tourism, the most in our Island’s history, a feat we can all be proud of.

But there is still much work to do to maintain our position and continue growing. As an industry, we must be agile and proactive, ready to adjust to current traveler trends, preferences, and new market developments. This is not a time for complacency but for active engagement and adaptation as times change.

2025 will be a year of significant transformation for all of us. Early this month, we learned about the new leaders in our State, Local, and Federal governments. Congratulations to our new Governor, Resident Commissioner, Legislators, and Mayors! We can’t wait to collaborate to further the development of our visitors' economies.

Change is also expected in our industry. Current trends show slowdowns in visitation and spending in U.S. and international markets. It also indicates new opportunities in the deals, special offers space, and other strategic areas.

As we navigate these unchartered waters, Discover Puerto Rico will continue leveraging our market investigations and expertise into our tactics as traveler trends change to continue to inspire travel to Puerto Rico. Our goal to drive visitation to the Island is more important than ever in this period, during which we want to consolidate our leadership in our region. Our best days are ahead of us.

Happy Holidays,
